Twitter want to stop fake accounts so decided to put verification seal on every twitter user’s account.
After Tony La Russa the St. Louis Cardinals manager this week attempted to sue Twitter because someone impersonated him on the service, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has announced plans to verify profiles.
Twitter says:
“We do recognize an opportunity to improve Twitter user experience and clear up confusion beyond simply removing impersonation accounts once alerted. We’ll be experimenting with a beta preview of what we’re calling Verified Accounts this summer.”
Due to the resources required, verification will begin only with a small set.
