Great post although you are missing the part about the importance of branding your blog. I read a post about that a few hours ago, really important stuff to be recognizable online. You can brand your blog with either your name or something from your imagination.

I wrote an E-Book recently and then it came into my mind that I have to setup a blog to reach out for customers. Today, just a few months later, I treat my blog as a business. That is because I’m actually selling something
For my other blogs your rules of course fit suit as well. When I started blogging some time ago I did only know one thing: Write some posts and wait. I was wrong, I learned how to make it better. Today all is fine. I’m happy and my “customers” are happy as well.

Nice post man… All of the above 6 points are extremely important and ‘continuous innovation’ along these points is what it takes to sustain. Having said that it also depends on what your blog stands for… If it’s just a pastime and your will and convenience, you may not need to really treat it like a business. But if you want to monetize, use it as a brand and medium to sell stuff then yes… it’s a real business.
