Broken Link Checker is one of the best tool to keep track of all your outgoing links. I’ve encountered a problem though with the widget for ingoing links. For some reason it doesn’t seem to be compatible with this plugin.

Nice set of tools however I think that the Broken link checker adds a bit of overhead to your posts, I use linkpatch which does the job of checking 404 errors

Keith You should also check Broken link checker settings. It is set to 72 hour which is unnecessary, increase it to 10 days or 15 days.. One should always check for Broken link once in a month atleast as broken links are dead point in terms of SEO.

DreamHost does have an option of backing up your entire blog monthly once. If you set up it that way.

So, at least rather than loosing all the info, using that feature would be of some help.

And I also insist on using Wp-db-backup and configuring it to do the backup weekly once and send the file to a mentioned email address.

Nice and useful post though two thing.
Securing your blog title should now fit here as :
Securing your blog means :
Keeping username as something different then admin
Keeping complex password
Securing your wp-admin folder as by default they are visible.
Changing Wp database name from default prefix wp_

Another 2 cents ..You using too many categories for one post. My advice use one categories per post, as using too many categories may cause duplication issue….

Nonetheless useful post for wordpress users and I’m glad I’m using all of these plugins.

Great post – knowing that I have *almost* all of them is a nice feeling since I’m just learning about WordPress as I go. And knowing what I am missing is good too – I need to get the broken link checker. I really hate to see broken links on a website and certainly don’t want them on mine.

Many bloggers are not aware of the importance of the security of thier blogs. What you have shared here are important plugins. I’m familiar with the two but the other three I’m not. Thank you for sharing this information. :-)
