Well, we never tried searching for like-minded people because till now like-minded people managed to find us on twitter and helped us gain over 8881 Followers. At any rate, looks like we can give your above methods a try! Great post

Never think of these tactics when I started using Twitter
I find that visit a popular blog in our niche, then read comments and visit their blogs to get the twitter profiles. Then retweet them so that they can recognize us and then they add us to their groups on TweetDeck or Twitter lists and so far.

Good post dude. It will be helpful to mention about sites that automate things in twitter like adding friends automatically, removing those who are not following you,etc.
