What should I select free or premium theme for my blog.This is the common question rises in the mind of every newbie bloggers while starting a blog.
Why there are tons of free WordPress themes.Many newbie bloggers confused while selecting the theme for their own blog.But as my own opinion,premium themes are best.There are number of WordPress theme developers.Even premium theme marketplace is growing very fast.
Why Premium themes ?
Here are number of points to say “Go for premium theme”
- Premium themes save time.
- Premium themes can be customized easily even without having the knowledge of programming language.
- Theme developers provide full support for limited time period or for lifetime.
- Premium themes come with number of pre built options.
- Premium themes can easily optimized for search Engines.
- Prebuilt widgets and ad management features.
- Premium themes don’t take more time to load pages.
- I can say lot of features……
here are the example of premium themes,you can get for your blog.
Thesis,woothemes,Themeforest,Elegant themes etc.
Why not Free themes ?
- Free themes are not reliable.
- Many developers encrypt footer or other section of the theme to get free back links.
- Free theme developers doesn’t provide any support.
- Free theme means risk of the privacy of your blog.
- Free themes take more time to page load due to non standard coding.
- Free themes comes without standard graphics and layout.
- Free themes means lot of manual things to do.
- free themes means……..Headache headache……
Conclusion:
No doubt,free themes can be downloaded free without spending a penny but there are number of reasons to have premium themes only.If you want to develop your blog professionally,you need premium theme.In the starting stage of your blog,you can design your blog with free theme but soon after growing the blog you must go for premium them like thesis or any other.

Hi Surender! I’m using free theme now. I wish to use the Premium Theme. However, i do not have much money to own one of it. Many of my buddies do recommend me to switch from free to Thesis Theme. I think i will change to it soon. Thanks for your sharing! I know the differences between these two theme now.

Premium themes should be brought once the blogger achieves moderate success.
What I feel in this context Surender is that it is better to go with the premium theme. But, if you are a starter with no capital to put in the blog apart from hosting, one can go with free themes initially and then when you start making some money out of your blog, one can any time go for premium themes.
What are your views on this … as I also have started a new blog with a free theme but definitely plan to move to premium in some time.

Free themes would not let your website stand out since some other sites can look the same as your site. But if you know some css or html, then this should not be a problem.

I also recommended premium theme. Soon I will upgrade to premium theme. But I am not sure which should I choose : Thesis or Gensis.

I believe both have them have their own pros and cons. Premium theme simply offers more customization,. But, if you’re a hobby blogger, i guess free themes rocks! There are numerous free themes out there which are too good and worth using.
yes, of course in the starting stage we can use free themes, after the blog growing we have to go for premium thesis, thanks for the great stuff.
Another thing that you have to remember about free theme is that some dev’s put malware in the script and will collect personal info. Beware when using free themes, hire a developer to create one for you or you can buy one.
