Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg introduced the ‘next generation messaging system’, which includes allowing users to have an @facebook.com email address, at an event in San Francisco on Monday. He said: “Email is too slow, email is too formal. There is too much friction, like the filling in the subject line when people send an email.”

 

An invite for a new @facebook.com email address is on sale via eBay, and has already raised more US $ 710 till publishing this post. Posted by the news site allfacebook.com, the auction has attracted nearly 47 bidders.

The new messaging system is only live to those with an invite at this stage, and Zuckerberg said that it will be rolled out slowly across the next several months. The eBay auction is the first to offer one for sale.

Yesterday Pakistan court ordered to shut down YouTube after facebook.

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority said it had ordered internet service providers to “completely shut down” YouTube and prevent Facebook from being viewed within Pakistan.

Facebook and Youtube has been barred as  part of a crackdown on websites seen to be hosting un-Islamic content.

“Such malicious and insulting attacks hurt the sentiments of Muslims around the world and cannot be accepted under the garb of freedom of expression,” Pakistani foreign ministry spokesman Abdul Basit said about the page.
