I’m seeing “guest blogging” being mentioned more and more I think, I suppose it could actually help boost your traffic. You just have to be sure about posting your article on another blog, rather than your own – I mean, often you would want to put as much content on your own blog as possible, and not on others – but that won’t give you traffic from that other blog.

True to a point, but if you’ve already written on a subject and have built authority there, you can actually re-work old posts, changing them in a way that makes them unique and fresh, but they still would seem like repetition on your own blog. I have experienced what you say here about Social Networking and Commenting.
I usually spend one or two hours a day on stumble and mixx while tweet all day. And it drives me most traffic to my blog now. I just started commenting on other blogs last week and amazingly my blog has some more visits and they are likely to leave a comment.
Guest posting is a great way to gain traffic from other blog and get quality backlink (IMHO, I believe backlink in the post is much better than the link in comment section), but dunno how to successful at guest posting. Hope you write a guideline about this tactic soon.
